Coal Board Medicals and Pre-Employment Medicals on the Sunshine Coast Queensland
Coal Board Medicals and pre-employment medicals are offered at Bundilla Clinic in Mooloolaba covering the entire Sunshine Coast of Queensland. We have two nominated medical advisors (NMA) on site so you can usually get same day appointments and all your paperwork completed and signed off the same day.
All coal mine workers in Queensland must have a Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme Assessment (Coal Board Medical) completed on the approved form prior to working in a Queensland coal mine and every 5 years during the employment. New medicals may also be required if workers change employers. These specialized medicals can only be signed off by a nominated medical advisor.
The health assessment form has four sections: Section 1 completed by your employer, Section 2 completed by you (with your personal and health history information, Section 3 completed by the examining medical officer with clinical findings, and Section 4 is completed and signed by the NMA. The medical includes audiology and spirometry tests and other tests deemed necessary by the doctor. Please bring along any documentation from your employer, any medication, tests or relevant X rays, and photo ID. If you wear glasses please bring them along. The coal board medical usually takes about an hour to complete.

Our Nominated Medical Advisor Offering Coal Board Medicals and Pre-Employment Medicals...
Dr. David Wilke
Dr David Wilke graduated from the University of Queensland, and moved to a rural area as Medical Superintendent relatively early in his medical career. Completing general practice training in North Queensland, he commenced private general practice there.
A country boy and all too familiar with boarding school, he moved back to Brisbane so his children could live at home while furthering their education. During his initial years in Brisbane, he worked as a visiting GP obstetrician to the Royal Women's Hospital while running his private general practice.
Leaving his long term Brisbane practice, David became part of a rural practice team in the Bowen Basin Coalfields, providing community medical care, as well as emergency response and occupational health services to the mining industry.
David has considerable experience in all areas of general practice, in particular vasectomies, obstetrics and gynaecology, skin cancer diagnosis and surgery, children's medicine, sporting injuries, and occupational health. David also is an NMA and does coal board medicals on the Sunshine Coast.
All Sunshine Coast coal board medical certificates are issued at our Mooloolaba clinic.
